Hydrogen

As business, industry and communities move to decarbonize the economy and reduce overall carbon impacts, the strategic use of clean, sustainable hydrogen and emerging hydrogen technologies will be essential enablers. Hydrogen’s status as a zero-carbon fuel makes it part of the suite of attractive solutions to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and move to cleaner, more sustainable energy sources.

Hydrogen has always been a key building block to ammonia, fertilizers and related refining processes. Production is generally through well-proven technologies. Today, interest in its application as a fuel is growing and expected to accelerate as more safe and economical ways to produce and transport hydrogen come to market. Whether produced as a “green” fuel through electrolysis with renewables, “blue” hydrogen produced via steam methane reforming, autothermal reforming, partial oxidation combined with carbon capture or “turquoise” hydrogen via pyrolysis, hydrogen in all its forms will be a greater contributor to a more sustainable future.
